Tamborine Mountain Gelato Co was opened by Bec and Alick Kilsby in 2022 with a simple goal — to create the best gelato in the region using authentic methods and real ingredients. Inspired by traditional Italian gelato and a desire to offer something truly special to the local community, we craft authentic pozzetti gelato with creative, flavour-driven recipes and a focus on seasonal flavours and elements made from scratch.
From the beginning, our philosophy has been simple: small batches, real ingredients, and nothing artificial. We use fresh milk from the scenic rim, cream from South East Queensland, real fruit, house-made add ins, nuts and natural ingredients to create gelato that is smooth, balanced and full of flavour.
We serve our gelato in traditional Italian pozzetti cabinets, which are covered stainless-steel wells which are temperature controlled and protect the gelato preserving its flavour and texture and allows us to serve it the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Every batch is handcrafted right here on Tamborine Mountain, and we are proud to be part of the local community and a destination for visitors exploring the Scenic Rim.
